Overview
Combat is a core part of IM:RP, whether you are defending yourself, participating in faction wars, or working in law enforcement. This page covers how to obtain weapons, manage your license, and use combat-related items and mechanics.
Obtaining Weapons
There are three ways to get guns:
- Legal gun shops -- Purchase from Ammu-Nation stores in Los Santos (requires a valid weapon license)
- Crafting -- Weapons can be crafted from materials at faction warehouses
- Other players -- Buy directly from dealers or through advertisements
/ad). Law enforcement monitors all ads.Weapon License
You need a weapon license to buy from legal gun shops. You need 4 RPoints to be eligible. Visit the Police Department (use /gps to find it) and purchase one with /weaponlicense.
Cost Escalation
Each time your license is revoked, the replacement cost increases:
| License # | Cost | Cooldown After Revocation |
|---|---|---|
| 1st | $500,000 | 1 week |
| 2nd | $1,000,000 | 2 weeks |
| 3rd | $2,000,000 | 2 weeks |
| 4th | $4,000,000 | 2 weeks |
| 5th+ | $8,000,000 | 2 weeks |
Sniper Rifle
To purchase or carry a sniper rifle, you must be Tier 0 or Tier 1 in a faction -- either legal or illegal.
Weapon Materials
Materials are the core ingredient for crafting weapons. They are produced by combining lead and metal at a warehouse controlled by an illegal faction. Civilians cannot craft materials themselves.
- Metal is sourced from the Las Venturas Quarry
- Lead is sourced from the San Fierro ship
- Materials can also appear in gift boxes during the Christmas event
There is no fixed market price for materials -- prices vary based on supply and demand. Purchase materials from other players through in-game trades.
Weapon Configuration
Use /quickbuy or /qb to open the Ammu-Nation Quick-Buy Settings. This lets you configure a preset weapon loadout for fast purchasing at gun shops.
For legal faction members, go to a legal spawn location and use /givegun config to set which weapons auto-equip when using /givegun.
Healing & Armor
- Healing: Enter an open house and use
/healto restore HP. Cost is $1,000-$1,500 per use. - Armor: Purchase armor at an Ammu-Nation store (requires a valid weapon license). Some houses also have the armor system -- see Houses for details.
- Drugs: You may use drugs to heal during combat, but only when you have clearly escaped from your enemy. See Server Rules for the full healing-in-fights rule.
Localisation Device
The localisation beacon sends a backup request (shown as a red marker) to your faction members. Purchase one from a hardware store.
| Command | Available To |
|---|---|
/fbk | All faction members |
/bk | PD, SASF, and Government members |
/em | PD, SASF, and Government members |
Breaking Cuffs
To free a cuffed player, you need a cuff pick from a hardware store. Use /hardware to find the nearest one, purchase a cuff pick with /buy, then approach the cuffed player and use /breakcuffs.
Civilians & Allies in Wars
During a faction war, strict rules apply to non-combatants:
Allied factions may:
- Provide duplicate keys to businesses, houses, and vehicles
- Supply materials or drugs
- Take territories from warring factions (but not directly attack)
Allied factions may NOT:
- Interfere in active gunfights or getaways
- Launch direct attacks on warring factions
Civilians may NOT:
- Assist in any way during a faction war
