Overview

Drug addiction is a risk that comes with using drugs. Every time you use a drug, there is a small chance you become addicted to it. Once addicted, you need to keep taking the drug to avoid withdrawal effects. If you keep using it while addicted, you can become dependent, which makes withdrawal even worse. You can have up to 5 active addictions at the same time.

The only way to fully cure an addiction is by visiting a rehab center.

Addiction Chances

Each time you use a drug, the game rolls a random number. If it lands on 1, you become addicted. A lower number means a higher chance of addiction.

Stages

Addiction has three stages. You start clean, and each time the addiction roll hits while you are already at a stage, you move to the next one.

• When you first get addicted to a drug, you enter the Addicted stage.
• If the addiction roll hits again while you are already Addicted to that drug, you become Dependent.

Satisfaction and Withdrawal

When you use a drug you are addicted to, your satisfaction timer resets to 60 minutes. The system checks your addiction status every 60 seconds. Once your satisfaction runs out, withdrawal kicks in.

Withdrawal Effects by Stage

• HP loss happens every 60 seconds while you are in withdrawal (satisfaction at zero).
• Your health will not drop below the minimum HP listed above from withdrawal alone.
• Screen shake only happens at the Dependent stage. Each tick there is a 1 in 5 chance your screen shakes and you get a message saying you feel dizzy.

Rehab

To cure your addictions, visit a rehab center (a rehab-type business on the map). Use the /rehab command while standing outside one.

• Rehab costs $5,000,000 and cures all of your active addictions at once.
• The money is taken from your hand or bank.
• Half of the rehab cost goes to the business owner as income.
