Management FAQ
Making Suggestions
Suggestions can only be made on the forums. Before posting, carefully consider:
- Why something exists or doesn't exist
- The impact your change would have on all players
- How it would affect the economy and game balance
Developers review hundreds of suggestions and spend many hours on them. Well-thought-out suggestions with clear reasoning are far more likely to be implemented.
Why is My Suggestion Taking So Long?
IM:RP receives hundreds of suggestions monthly. Even small features require hours of development and testing. Larger features can take weeks or months. Many suggestions affect the economy and other systems, requiring careful planning to prevent imbalances.
Server Restarts
Restarts happen when changes are deployed to the server. They are infrequent, but urgent bug fixes may require a restart at any time.
Bugs & Crashes
GTA: San Andreas was released in 2001 and was not designed for modern hardware. SA-MP hasn't been maintained since 2014 and relies on memory hacking. IM:RP itself contains tens of thousands of interdependent features. Changing one can affect hundreds of others. The development team works continuously to identify and fix issues.
Why Do Premium Members Get Perks?
Running IM:RP is expensive, with 10+ servers to maintain monthly. Premium perks are designed to avoid pay-to-win and are mostly limited to:
- Increased limits
- Reduced cooldowns
- Unique cosmetic skins
This supports the development team and keeps the server running.
What Does Management Do?
Management handles a wide range of tasks that are mostly invisible to players:
- Defending against cheaters (some designed specifically for IM:RP)
- Answering support tickets, Discord DMs, and forum PMs
- Processing appeals and reports
- Updating server software, making backups, monitoring performance
- Managing and training the staff team
- Developing new features and bug fixes
Launcher Troubleshooting
If your game doesn't start or keeps crashing, follow these steps in order. After each step, try launching the game:
- Open the launcher -> Settings -> Troubleshooting -> Run Tools -> Install Dependencies. Follow all prompts.
- If the problem persists, return to Settings -> Troubleshooting -> Run Tools and try the remaining repair options.
- Reinstall the game completely if nothing else works.
- If issues continue, contact support on the forum or Discord with details about the error.
