Overview
The Betting Center lets you bet on sports matches against other players. You can create your own bets or accept bets that others have posted. All betting is done through a visual interface inside the Betting Center building.
To get started, go to a Betting Center business and use /placebet to open the betting screen.

How It Works
There are two roles in every bet: the maker and the taker.
- The maker creates a bet, picks a match, chooses an outcome they think will win, sets odds, and puts up their stake.
- The taker bets against that outcome. They click an existing bet and accept it by entering how much they want to risk.
Your money is taken as soon as you create or accept a bet. If you win, the payout is sent automatically. If you are offline when the match ends, winnings or notifications are delivered when you next log in.
Creating a Bet
- Open the betting screen with
/placebet. - Click Create Bet.
- Pick a match from the list. You can use the Sport and League filters to narrow it down.
- Choose the outcome you think will happen (for example, "Team A wins").
- Set your odds (between 1.1x and 10.0x).
- Enter your stake (between $5,000 and $200,000,000).
- Review the confirmation and click Confirm Bet.
Your bet is now listed for other players to accept.
Accepting a Bet
- Open the betting screen with
/placebet. - Browse the available offers. Use the Sport, League, and Status filters to find what you want.
- Click on an offer to view its details.
- Click Accept Bet and enter the amount you want to bet.
- Confirm the bet.
When you accept a bet, you are betting against the outcome the maker chose. For example, if the maker bet on "Team A wins", you are betting that Team A does not win.
Odds
Odds determine how much each side needs to put up and how much the winner receives. The maker sets the odds when creating the bet.
- Low odds (close to 1.1x): The maker expects their outcome is very likely. The taker risks less money but wins more if the maker is wrong.
- Even odds (2.0x): Both sides put up the same amount. A fair coin-flip type bet.
- High odds (close to 10.0x): The maker expects their outcome is unlikely. The taker risks more money but wins less if the maker is wrong.

Filters
The betting screen has three filters to help you find bets:

By default, the main screen shows only Open offers (bets that still have room to accept).
Bet Statuses
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Open | The bet is available to accept. No one has taken it yet, or there is still room for more takers. |
| Matched | Someone has fully accepted the bet. Waiting for the match to finish. |
| In Progress | The match has started. |
| Awaiting Payout | The match is over. Winnings are being processed. |
| Won | You won the bet. Your payout has been sent. |
| Lost | You lost the bet. |
| Cancelled | The bet was cancelled by the maker, or the match was cancelled. |
| Refunded | Your money was returned because the match was cancelled or your bet was not matched before the match started. |
Cancelling a Bet
If you created a bet and no one has accepted it yet, you can cancel it from the offer view screen and get a full refund. If the bet is partially matched (some players accepted part of it), you will only be refunded the unmatched portion.
Automatic Refunds
The system automatically handles refunds in these situations:
- Match starts with unmatched bets: If a match begins and your bet was not fully matched, the unmatched portion is refunded.
- Match is cancelled: Both the maker and taker receive full refunds for all bets on that match.
