Remove the senseless tax of /marketplace.

by Manuel_Lombardi•Jun 3, 2026 at 11:24 PM

Suggestion:
Currently, as a seller you are obligated to pay 5% tax if you decide to sell something via /marketplace, but that doesn't make any sense at all. Two hours ago I saw someone selling euros in the marketplace for $3.7m each (which means $3.5m after 5% tax), so instead of buying via /marketplace, I just asked him to sell me outside /marketplace instead of paying $200k more for each, and he still got $3.5m for each euro. That 5% tax doesn't make any sense at all and should be removed, as currently /marketplace can be considered as a constant advertising agency just to know that X and Y are selling/buying stuff, yet the main purpose happens outside /marketplace.

Who benefits:
More players will actually use /marketplace and it will make more sense.

Who is hurt:
None at all.

We have no intentions on removing the tax. It's far more convenient for you to be able to list something and people are able to buy it 24/7 regardless of your activity. If you still prefer using /sell, then that's perfectly fine, but I'm pretty sure you'll lose out in the end because you're not reaching every possible buyer.

I agree, especially for items that are OOC. About other stuff, they are illegal, so the fact that you pay taxes to the government to be allowed to sell drugs and materials legally doesn't make sense to me.

I agree, I don’t know what’s the reason of this…
It’s hard to earn money anyway and this 5 percent ruining the market.

The marketplace is a good idea. What I suggest is, instead of the 5% tax, just take a fixed fee for each buy or sell order. There is no need to charge absurd amounts, treat the orders like ads. Charge 100k per buy or sell order (I think that's an amount everyone can afford), and people will start using the marketplace. You are already taking the money and goods from the account and keeping them on hold in the marketplace when the orders are placed, so there is no way for people to scam. Just charge 100k per buy or sell order.

Good idea, also people won't create orders for troll prices.

Bro you either go on marketplace or you sell in person, it’s like tax fraud irl + marketplace is 24/7 which means uon have to be ingame

I suggest to remove tax on OCC items only.

It might be a good idea to remove the taxes and instead introduce a 1-in-N chance of ending up on the wlist, as a way to balance things out. People no longer do ADs, so the police no longer have a way to wlist those who use alternative wording to hide they're lookin for or selling drugs/mats.

Well, no one would use /marketplace if there is a risk of losing their illegal stuff.

People usually make ad like "Selling house bricks" or "selling vitamins" and they know they will be instantly added to wlist, simply the put they're phone off to not me traced and wait to be contacted OOCly by PM.

I believe that the game should not be oversimplified otherwise it loses its meaning completely.

People can still use the public frequency to advertise selling illegal stuff instead of /ad to avoid being caught by legals, which is more worse..
